| Portuguese Abstract: | Brain research constitutes an interdisciplinary endeavor ranging from computer science, mathematics, physics and chemistry to cell biology, animal behavior, psychology and the humanities. This perspective article discusses current neuroscience topics of utmost interest including the conquest of aging, evidence-based education, the epidemic of psychiatric medication, the prohibition of certain drugs, the resurgence of depth psychology (e.g. psychoanalysis) and the mechanisms underlying consciousness. |
