| Portuguese Abstract: | A excessiva quantidade de informação não é um fenômeno do século XXI, assim como também não é a criação de notícias falsas. Em meio a esse contexto, vincula-se a sociedade da informação, que diante da expressiva produção de fake news (notícias falsas), contribui para o fortalecimento da pós-verdade, resultando na desinformação em diferentes âmbitos e em escala global. Esta pesquisa relaciona-se o tema das fake news ao profissional da informação, elucidando suas competências e conduta ética. Dessa forma, convoca-se os autores que abordam sobre o perfil do bibliotecário, sobretudo como mediador. O estudo tem como objetivo geral analisar a percepção dos egressos do curso de Biblioteconomia da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte quanto as suas competências no combate a disseminação das fake news. Como instrumento de coleta de informações recorreu-se ao questionário composto por perguntas fechadas e abertas. Percebeu-se que os egressos conhecem acerca das notícias falsas e seus desdobramentos, buscando em determinadas situações combater o uso e a propagação das fake news. Sugere-se a ampliação da pesquisa com outros egressos, envolvendo as temáticas da ética e da competência frente as notícias falsas e seus correlatos: pós-verdade e desinformação |
| Abstract: | The excessive amount of information is not a 21st century phenomenon, nor is it the new creation of false news. In the midst of this context, the information society is linked, which, faced with the expressive production of fake news, contributes to the strengthening of the post-truth, resulting in disinformation in different areas and on a global scale. This research relates the theme of fake news to the information professional, elucidating their skills and ethical conduct. In this way, the authors are invited to discuss the profile of the librarian, especially as a mediator. The general objective of this study is to analyze the perception of the graduates of the Library Course of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte as to their competencies in combating the dissemination of fake news. As an instrument for collecting information, the questionnaire was used, consisting of closed and open questions. It was noticed that egresses know about false news and its consequences, seeking in certain situations to combat the use and spread of fake news. It is suggested to expand the research with other graduates, involving the themes of ethics and competence in the face of false news and its correlates: post-truth and misinformation |
