| Abstract | This study aimed to investigate the organization of industrial education in Brazil between 1930 and 1941, through influential institutions and documentation produced by the Industrial Education Division. To this end, it was structured as a documentary and bibliographic research, using as its documentary corpus official letters and reports identified at the Center for Research and Documentation of Contemporary Brazilian History (CPDOC), mainly the analysis report Industrial Education Maintained by the Union (1941). The research is linked to the field of History of Professional Education and, for its development, made use of Arostegui's historical method, as well as the concepts of industrial education, by Cunha (2000), and intellectuals and sociability networks, by Sirinelli (1986). Based on the investigation, it was observed that industrial education constituted a space for the implementation of ideas and values, becoming a hub of disputes marked by the particular intentions of influential institutions (government and industry). These institutions promoted the standardization of commissions responsible for developing studies, plans, and reorganizations of professional education. It was also identified that one of the spaces for reorganization was the Industrial Education Division itself, which built organizational guidelines focused on both the theoretical and practical spheres, structuring disciplines that would assist in the articulation between both, transmitting "human", moral, and civic values, and, finally, dedicating itself not only to modifying the curriculum, but also to the restructuring of the physical facilities of the high schools. | |
