Morte-aprendizagem em Ciranda de pedra e em A confissão da leoa: romances de formação e tanatologia

Esta tese verifica a hipótese da morte-aprendizagem: a partir da recorrência do tema morte nos romances Ciranda de pedra (publicado originalmente em 1954), de Lygia Fagundes Telles, e A confissão da leoa (2012), de Mia Couto, observamos como o processo de finitude (o morrer, os mortos, o luto, a melancolia e o reinvestimento libidinal em novos objetos amorosos) funciona como catalisador do desenvolvimento humano nas personagens protagonistas que, imersas em sucessivas experiências de morte (biológica/ natural e simbólica/ metafórica), amadurecem psíquica, afetiva e socialmente, configurando-se as obras como romances de formação (Pinto, 1990; Mazzari, 2010; Moretti, 2020). A partir de uma fundamentação teórica interdisciplinar (Psicanálise, Biologia, Etnologia Social, Filosofia e História), discorremos sobre como o morrer e o lidar com os mortos têm se configurado na sociedade, reverberando subjetivamente na formação das personagens em análise. Tendo-se em vista a necessidade de mais trabalhos que relacionam a temática da morte com obras literárias, ratifica-se a relevância desta pesquisa, que contribui para a área de estudos de Literatura Comparada, unindo a literatura africana moçambicana de autoria masculina e a literatura brasileira contemporânea de autoria feminina. A título de ilustração, oferecemos brevemente, além dos dois romances que constituem o nosso corpus, outros exemplos literários em que o morrer se apresenta como tema, demonstrando sua recorrência como forma de ratificar a ampla presença do que chamamos aqui de “morte-aprendizagem”.

This thesis verifies the death-learning hypothesis: from the recurrence of the death as a theme in the novels Ciranda de pedra (originally published in 1954), by Lygia Fagundes Telles, and A confissão da leoa (2012), by Mia Couto, we observe how the process of death (dying, the dead, mourning, melancholy and the libidinal reinvestment in new beloved objects) works as a catalyst for human development in the protagonists who, immersed in many experiences of death (biological/natural and symbolic/ metaphorical), mature psychically, affectively and socially, configuring these works as formation novels (Pinto, 1990; Mazzari, 2010; Moretti, 2020). From a transdisciplinary theoretical foundation (Psychoanalysis, Biology, Social Ethnology, Philosophy and History), we discuss how dying and dealing with the dead have been configured in society, reverberating subjectively in the formation of the characters under analysis. Considering the need for more works that relate the theme of death with literary works, the relevance of this research is ratified, which contributes to the area of studies of Comparative Literature, uniting Mozambican African literature of male authorship and contemporary Brazilian literature of female authorship. By way of illustration, we offer briefly, in addition to the two novels that make up our corpus, other literary examples in which dying is presented as a theme, demonstrating its recurrence as a way of ratifying the wide presence of what we call here “death-learning”.
