Background. Fibromyalgia is a syndrome characterized for persistent and debilitating disorder marked by chronic widespread pain. Objective. We aim to create a virtual body representation of peripheral pain to pressure in fbromyalgia patients. Method. Fifty adult subjects, aged 32-71 years, who fulfll the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) criteria for fbromyalgia and forty-two healthy volunteers, were recruited. Pain sensitivity was performed on the 18 points identifed by ACR. Algometry was carried out to record threshold and tolerance to pain quantifed in kg/cm2. Functionality was evaluated by Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQ). Differences in percent were used to enlarge the correspondent body part in fbromyalgia group using a 3D MAX® Software. Results. Signifcant difference between FIQ (p<0.0001), pain threshold (fbromyalgia 1.8±0.4; control 4.7±1.2) and tolerance (fbromyalgia 2.52±0.5; control 5.91±1.5) was found between the groups (p<0.0001). Te body pain representation in fbromyalgia group is different than control, showing that pain perception increases is mainly in cervical, thoracic, arms, gluteus and over the knees. Conclusion. It is possible to create a virtual body pain image of fbromyalgia using algometry. Tis may contribute to build a specifc body representation of this syndrome and to contribute to better information for clinical management and diagnosis.pt_BR
