Sustentabilidade organizacional e desenvolvimento local: atividade faccionista têxtil no Seridó Potiguar

Abstract

Discussions about sustainability and development were enlarged in the context of socioambiental crisis, which is revealed through the rise of environmental degradation, poverty increase and social inequality. In local scale, sustainability development strategies can be expanded by the economic conditions and human and environmental resources available. In this case, the notion of sustainability acquires prominence, starting to be institutionalized by the companies that operate in differents geographical scales, emphasizing the importance of organizational sustainability. In this context, the aim of this study is to analyse the textile activities in brazilian Seridó region by the perspective of the organizational sustainability and their contribution for the local/regional development. For this analysis, the Organizational Sustainability Validate Method (M.A.I.S) was used, the set of indicators and punctuation methodology, as well as, was analysed numbers of produced jobs, the gross income of the companies, the costs with personal sector and the tax revenue of the local authorities. Methodology proceedings were based in a field work and bibliographical analyses, using the triangulation of that information as the form of attesting to the collected data. The average score for the sample indicates that textile factions companies is in the Sustainable range, their contributions to local development are significant, since they generate jobs, income and increase tax revenues to municipalities that host the fabrics , contributing to the regional development and economy.
