From the perspective of cases in which signs, symptoms or changes in the disease period persist, the term "long COVID" emerged, i.e., long COVID or post-COVID syndrome. The objective of this study was to verify the changes related to functionality and its related factors of users of Basic Health Units of Santa Cruz with long COVID. The study was observational, descriptive, cross-sectional and quantitative in nature. The population consisted of the Basic Health Units of the municipality of Santa Cruz who tested positive for COVID-19, and the sample was convenience. It was found that the sample n (n=53) of the UBS of Santa Cruz/RN presented symptoms of long COVID-19, the most self-reported: cognitive alterations (memory), sleep alterations, hair loss, fatigue and dyspnea on efforts. In general, women reported persistence of symptoms more than men, especially with regard to health-related quality of life. Regarding the functionality aspect of the participants, it was worse considering a longer time of contamination and worse symptomatology time. Therefore, the continuity of research on long COVID is necessary together with Primary Health Care, which will bring better clarifications to the multidisciplinary team in order to outline strategies for action in public policies in the longitudinal monitoring of individuals, favoring a lower rate of limitations in the process of restructuring the return to their functional activities.Attribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/COVID-19atenção primária à saúdesaúdebachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE
