Monografia (Graduação em Ciências Econômicas) - Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2019.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/41658The objective of this paper is to investigate how the economy of Rio Grande do Norte went through the dynamic cycle of jobs from 2004 to 2014, checking the historical dependencies of this growth with the paradigms inherited from the 1990s and the underdeveloped economic formation through space. The sectoral composition of job creation by territory and changes with the crisis that began in 2015 were also verified. The analysis leads to the conclusion that despite the substantial growth in jobs and the relevant social gains, the period of growth of effective demand was not sufficient to qualitatively modify the existing circular economic stream without transferring workers to higher productivity sectors.
