Avaliação funcional da performance motora de membro superior da pessoa com esclerose lateral amiotrófica: estudo de caso. 2022. 103f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Fisioterapia), Departamento de Fisioterapia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2022.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/48656The objective of the research was to evaluate the motor performance of the upper limb of the person with ALS through a functional assessment protocol. For this, a descriptive observational study of the case study type was carried out, which included the development and application of the protocol, in addition to the classification and categorization of each item of each assessment tool in the components and chapters of the ICF, in order to verify if the The protocol developed is functional, overarching and integrative, and provides a biopsychosocial view of the functionality and disability of the person with ALS, in particular, the motor performance of the upper limb. The development of the protocol took place in three distinct stages: (1) identification and selection of specific assessment tools for ALS; (2) identification and selection of assessment tools used for ALS and/or for analysis of similar outcomes in populations with other neurological and/or musculoskeletal disorders; and (3) development of pertinent questions for evaluation, not included in the instruments already selected, in order to characterize and perform the clinical staging of the sample, and to assess functionality, cognition, fatigue, muscle electrical activity, tone, reflexes, pain, sleep, and use, experience and satisfaction with assistive technologies. The protocol developed included all the components of the ICF, confirming that the tool is functional, overarching and integrative, and that it provides a biopsychosocial view of the functionality and disability of the person with ALS, in particular, the motor performance of the upper limb, and can fill the lack of a standardized evaluation form for observational and interventional studies for this public. In addition, the results obtained can enable a more effective therapeutic planning, in the short, medium and long term, support analyzes and the development of new technologies focused on the individual's needs, in order to preserve functionality and improve the quality of life of these people, in addition to supporting new functional assessment tools for patients with other sensorimotor disorders.
