Aiming at higher levels of affinity between the implant and the human body, engineering focuses on studies on ceramic coating processes, surface modifications and the search for new materials. Much research has been done on the coating of metal surfaces with hydroxyapatite, due to its special characteristics to human bone, through the technique of oxidative electrolytic plasma (PEO), which qualified the life of the biocompatibility of the implants, the increase in the useful life and processes rejection or adverse reactions. Thus, the given work sought to study the influence of some variables of the PEO process in the formation of a hydroxyapatite coating on Ti cp2 and AISI 316lvm steel surfaces. For this purpose, the pH variation of the electrolytic solution (1 to 9), the total treatment time (15 to 90), the behavior of the electric current over time, the treatment polarity and the electrolytic solution were studied, always for the variation of only one of the parameters mentioned. The results of FRX, EDS and MEV-FEG showed the success in the production of a coating, which, according to the treatment variables, can present varying levels of thickness, porosity, topography, and percentage of the basic elements of hydroxyapatite (Ca and P).Acesso AbertoPEOHidroxiapatitaTitânioAço 316LVMImplantes dentáriosEstudo da deposição de hidroxiapatita por PEO em amostras de TI CP2 e aço inoxidável AISI 316LVMmasterThesis
