Two RESs have been becoming increas- ingly popular, wind power and photovoltaic generation. Wind power generation is considered one of the most attractive forms of RES and has been used on a large scale worldwide. These RESs can be connected to the electrical grid through Distributed Generation Systems (DGS), which are systems where energy generation occurs close to the consumer. DGSs are usually connected to the grid through power converters. Such converters have different operating modes, such as grid-feeding, grid-forming, and grid-supporting mode. Most wind DGSs operate in grid-feeding mode, supplying active power to the grid. The ability of a wind DGS to remain connected to the electrical grid in the case of voltage variations during steady-state events is called Low Voltage Ride-Through (LVRT) capability. Each country has its own grid code, which defines how long a wind DGS can remain connected before being disconnected for steady-state voltage variation events. Therefore, in this work, a proposal is made to increase the Low Voltage Ride-Through (LVRT) capability of a wind DGS based on a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) connected to the grid via a back-to-back system by injecting/consuming reactive power to control the grid voltage based on the identification of voltage abnormalities. If the grid voltage does not return to acceptable values, the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm of the PMSG is altered so that the system operates by supplying less active power to the grid. If, even so, the voltage does not return to suitable values, the system is disconnected from the grid. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/SGDDGSLVRTLVRTGeração EólicaWind PowerModo CorrenteGrid FeedingPMSGPMSGSistema eólico baseado em PMSG operado no modo corrente com capacidade LVRT e suporte de tensãoWind power system based on PMSG operated in grid-feeding with LVRT capability and voltage supportbachelorThesisCNPQ::ENGENHARIAS
