Such argument was made based on Pierre Bourdieu's (2014) conception of male domination and symbolic violence, understanding them as a type of gender violence. The path to this research is the study of the representation of the characters' behavior in their social environment, the differences in this regard between male and female characters and what type of gender violence is present in the story. The methodology used is bibliographical and qualitative research, using aspects of the literary theory of Candido (2023) and feminist theories of Castañeda (2006), Gago (2020), Saffiotti (2015), Butler (2003) and Woolf ( 2016). The conclusion found is that the studied short story is made up of various gender-based violence, in addition to the rape of the main character, some of which are quite invisible by society, but which can be seen through the theory of Bourdieu (2014) and Castañeda (2006).Ânsia eterna.
