For this purpose, the materials and methods used classified this study as quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional, field research type. The sample consisted of 112 high-risk pregnant women. The Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale adapted in Brazil by Hutz in 2000, as well as a questionnaire on socioeconomic and obstetric issues were used. Data analysis used an adjusted model of univariate Poisson regression and two multivariate models presented as tables. Of the results found, through the analysis of the samples, 72.3% of the pregnant women presented unsatisfactory self-esteem. In conclusion, the main factors that lead high-risk pregnant women to develop low self-esteem are related to low schooling, lack of occupation and cesarean surgeries.
