Caicó, 2025.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/62410In a context where personal data protection has become a growing challenge, especially in the face of digitalization and technological evolution, the objective of this study was to understand the practical and strategic implementation of the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD) by accounting firms in Caicó-RN, to ensure compliance with the legislation. The methodology adopted was descriptive, with a qualitative approach, and involved the application of a structured questionnaire to 21 accounting firms in the city. The results indicated that, despite the recognition of the importance of the LGPD, the implementation of compliance policies is still incipient, requiring investments in training, appropriate technologies and greater support from leadership for effective adaptation to the legislation. This research helps accounting firms implement safer practices that comply with legal requirements.
