Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso ( Graduação em Pedagogia EaD) - Centro de Educação, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Nova Cruz, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/65064This work aims to emphasize the importance of playfulness in the literacy and literacy processes in the early years of elementary school. Considering the importance of pedagogical practices that promote children's engagement and creativity, this research analyzes how games, games and recreational activities can promote the acquisition of reading and writing, in addition to promoting cognitive, social and emotional development. Based on theoretical references from authors such as Emília Ferreiro, Paulo Freire and Vygotsky, this study addresses that the school environment should be a space for meaningful experiences, where playing is recognized as an essential pedagogical strategy. In the early years of elementary school, children are cognitively in a period that favors the process of acquiring knowledge and, therefore, they are able to introduce, improve and consolidate all the information presented to them, and there is nothing better than teaching through playfulness, considering the world of children in a context of systematic education. In this way, the acquisition of learning will take place in a pleasant, light and effective way, as playfulness brings to the classroom a methodology that combines the abstract with concrete experiences, an aspect that makes learning more palpable to children's world. It is also valuable to point out that play makes learning pleasant and pleasurable, an aspect that involves children in the learning process and they participate in an interactive way in activities that are necessarily planned and aimed within a context that considers the curriculum and the improvement of individual abilities of each child. Considering the above, the methodology of this work includes a bibliographical review and analysis of practices applied in the classroom, showing that playfulness enhances learning by promoting interaction, curiosity and pleasure in learning. It is concluded that integrating literacy and literacy into recreational activities favors the integral development of students, contributing to the construction of knowledge in a light, enjoyable and consolidated way.
