The absence of a standardized flow for the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) can compromise the effectiveness of nutritional interventions, impacting the patient's clinical recovery. Objective: This study aimed to develop a protocol to standardize the flow of nutritional care for critically ill pediatric patients in a university hospital. Methodology: This is a methodological and descriptive research based on theoretical materials and the professional experience of nutritionists working in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a university hospital. The Standardized Terminology of the Nutritional Care Process (TNCP) and the expertise of nutritionist evaluators working in the area of pediatric intensive care were used to define the terms and stages of nutritional care. In addition, an infographic was created to facilitate the practical visualization of the standardized flow. Results: Based on current nutritional care practices and care processes available in the literature, it was possible to develop a protocol with a standardized nutritional care flow structured into four main stages: nutritional assessment and reassessment, nutritional diagnosis, nutritional intervention, and nutritional monitoring and measurement. Additionally, the creation of the infographic allowed for the didactic visualization of the clinical nutrition care flow for critically ill patients to facilitate its implementation in the PICU routine. Conclusion: The standardization of the nutritional care flow for pediatric patients treated in the PICU developed here, once implemented, may enable uniformity in care, optimization of nutritional assistance and better clinical outcomes for pediatric patients in a PICU. In view of this, it is suggested that studies be carried out aiming at the validation, application, implementation and continued reviews of the instrument proposed here.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/Planejamento de assistência ao pacienteAvaliação de resultados em cuidados de saúdePediatriaUnidades de terapia intensiva pediátricaProcesso de cuidado em nutrição: padronização de cuidado ao paciente crítico pediátrico em um hospital universitário de Natal - RNNutrition care process: standardization of care for critically ill pediatric patients in a university hospital in Natal - RNbachelorThesis
