For purposes of this dissertation, we are interested in learn fans as individuals in an interdependente relationship with the collective the crowd for whom football transcends the game itself to become a practice, which by keeping links with the football universe, presents impacts in many aspects of everyday life. Our reflection assumes that the symbolic universe of football greatly exceeds the social events occurred in stadiums. Thus, one of the theoretical contributions of analysis used were the concept of game (CAILLOIS, 2001; HUIZINGA, 2005) as a cultural element of symbolic nature that covers itself of fundamental importance for social relations based on everyday practices as an individual action mode. However, it is also used the concept of sports to address football, the fascination notions (GUMBRECHT, 2007), belongings, and symbolic images as basic characteristics of the process of social construction of fans. As the main objective of the research is to investigate how the fans of ABC Football Club from Natal, RN are built nowadays, the methodological approach adopted was an analytical description of the many types of ABC fans by conducting semi-structured interviews, applying online questionnaires and observing some matches at the stadium, on radio, and on TV during the years of 2014 and 2015.
