These disputes can be costly for both individuals involved and to avoid further damage, behavioral displays can indicate the potential of the opponent before the fight escalates. Knowing the ethogram of agonistic behaviors of species can be useful in management and conservation programs. Ethograms are lists of behaviors observed in behavioral categories of a species. Observations can be made through different methods, even during ex sittu behavioral experiments. There are many papers published on the natural history, trophic ecology and autecology of Tropidurus semitaeniatus, have been studied in its. Although the behavioral repertoire of several different species of lizard have been described, allowing phylogenetic comparisons, there are no published ethograms for lizards of the Tropidurus genus. Here, we produced a detailed ethogram for the species and described a new behavior, the dorsum display, an unknown behavior not reported for any Tropiduridae to date. We described agonistic behaviors from recordings of interaction trials in the laboratory. The most frequent behaviors were tongue-flicking, biting, intimidation posture and head bob, among others.openAccessAn error occurred getting the license - uri.
