Over the years, attention to animal healthcare has grown, necessitating increased investments in infrastructure to meet the demand. With the increase in the pet population and awareness of the importance of healthcare for animals, the number of people seeking veterinary services has significantly risen. Therefore, the present work aims to develop an architectural proposal for a space dedicated to the health of small animals, based on the concepts of expansiveness, flexibility, and adaptability. To achieve this, it was sought to study and understand the needs of small mammals as well as the human users, particularly the staff of such establishments. Additionally, it aimed to comprehend how veterinary healthcare facilities and animal shelters operate and apply the principles of expansiveness, flexibility, and adaptability in the project, with the aim of employing guidelines that contribute to sustainable modifications of the space. As a result, the final proposal of the project is the Assisi Veterinary Hospital, a healthcare environment composed of five blocks, with one distributed over two floors and the others being single-story, in addition to providing two semi-public areas.
