In capitalist sociability, the aging process of the working class is crossed by the precariousness and pauperism of the living and working conditions of this population, with access to basic services, such as health, food, housing, social assistance, among others, denied or accessed. minimally, with low quality. The general objective of this monograph is to analyze the conditions of aging of the working class within the scope of capitalist sociability and the lack of social protection of the population, mainly in relation to the denial of institutional care services. The work uses the historical-dialectic critical method, using the quantitative-qualitative approach, where a study was carried out with a bibliographical review based on the selection of articles, books, monographs and dissertations by authors who research and produce about the theme and documentary survey through access and collection of data in banks of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics - IBGE and the Institute of Applied Economic Research - IPEA, for better understanding and appropriation of the discussion. The interest in the theme came through the experience of a mandatory curricular internship at the Instituto do Envelhecer - IEN/UFRN, in which it was possible to realize that the number of elderly people in Brazil has been growing every year, in contrast, the social policies aimed at this population in addition to not having advanced to the same level, it is still going through a process of dismantling and weakening through neoliberal counter-reforms. In this sense, the relevance of the study lies in strengthening the fight for the social rights of Elderly People, evolving towards the consolidation of Social Protection for this population. In view of this, the results of the research, in addition to highlighting the dismantling of Brazilian social policies and inequality in the aging process of the population, reaffirmed a lack of responsibility and a denial of the State with regard to guaranteeing Social Protection for the Elderly, transferring this responsibility to the family and civil society.Attribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/Serviço SocialEnvelhecimentoProteção socialSociabilidade capitalistaPolíticas sociaisSocial WorkAgingSocial protectionCapitalist sociabilityPolicies socialO envelhecer na sociabilidade capitalista e a (des)proteção social da população idosa no cenário brasileiroAging in capitalist sociability and the social (dis)protection of the elderly population in BrazilbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::SERVICO SOCIAL
