O Convention Bureau e o turismo de eventos na cidade de Natal: história de uma relação produtiva. Orientador: Almir Félix de Oliveira Batista. 2025. 34 f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação) - Curso de Turismo, Centro de Ciências Sociais Aplicadas, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2025.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/65314Event tourism is a strategic segment for the economic development of destinations, with Convention Bureaux playing an essential role in this process. In Natal, the Natal Convention & Visitors Bureau (NCVB) acts as a liaison between the public and private sectors, promoting the city as an event hub. In this context, this study analyzed the role of the NCVB in strengthening business and event tourism, focusing on economic impacts, job creation, and the destination’s competitiveness. This qualitative and exploratory research was based on document analysis and a literature review on event tourism and the activities of CVBs. The results indicate that the NCVB significantly contributed to the sector’s growth, presenting a successful trajectory. Over time, event tourists have proven to be more profitable, with longer stays and less seasonal concentration. The bureau’s actions have also driven the internationalization of Natal through participation in global trade shows and the attraction of high-profile events. Furthermore, projections point to job creation and the strengthening of local supply chains, highlighting the NCVB’s role as an agent of socioeconomic development. It is concluded that MICE tourism in Natal is highly profitable, reduces seasonality, and enhances the destination’s international visibility. Despite the study's temporal limitations, future quantitative research is recommended, along with analysis of event organizers' perceptions and exploration of opportunities in the sustainable events segment, aligned with ESG trends. The study helps fill an academic gap by systematizing the bureau’s trajectory and providing input for public policies and more effective event attraction strategies.pt-BRAttribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/Turismo de eventoConvention BureauDesenvolvimento econômicoNatal (RN)0 Convention Bureau e o turismo de eventos na cidade de Natal: história de uma relação produtivabachelorThesisCIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::TURISMO
