Monografia (Especialização) - Programa de Residência Multiprofissional em Atenção Básica, Escola Multicampi de Ciências Médicas, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Caicó, 2021.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/44353In view of the need to provide access to health care and comprehensive care for all in a worldwide panorama, the expanded concept of health has been the subject of important debates and progress. The creation of the Unified Health System and the implementation of policies and programs to strengthen health prevention and promotion actions seek to address Brazilian health needs, in a perspective of Health Care Networks. In this context, Basic Care or Primary health Care works with strategies for prevention, promotion and rehabilitation in health, is composed of multiple actors and aims to strengthen the expanded concept in health. Thus, in the health promotion actions developed in Primary Health Care, the development of health promotion groups is emphasized. This study aims to identify how the health promotion groups operate and the main contributions and challenges for Primary Health Care. This is an integrative literature review carried out in the LILACS, SCIELO and Pubmed databases, in July 2020. The articles were selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, which accounted as a final sample the total of 08 studies. It was found that most studies were carried out in a multidisciplinary way, between the period 2015-2018, prevalent in the northeast region of Brazil, with a target audience being pregnant women, the elderly and women between 40 and 55 years old; however, little research has brought about the logistics and organization of health teams for the development of groups. As contributions, highlight the potential for improving people's quality of life, the creation of interactive spaces and the exchange of experiences; the challenges encountered are related to the need for professional training and support from health management to enable better operationalization. It is concluded that the groups are important strategies for consolidating health promotion in Brazil, as a way of responding to the health needs still in force today.
