The reflections here presented were collected from items available in electronic databases, such as SciELO, BIREME and LILACS. The aim was to put in evidence the importance of debate and deepen the humanization theme in the training of dental students process considering that the academic environment constitutes an appropriate place, since it produces knowledge, are formed ideas and creators. It is necessary to humanize education to humanize the only health system, that is, enable the construction of a new profile of academic dentistry that can develop humanized health actions within the health services.
