Faced with this problem, I took on the challenge of thinking about how the History curricular component, articulated with Human Rights Education, could help teaching professionals to combat violent practices in the school environment, and at the same time build knowledge and promote values that contribute to valuing dialogue, respect and tolerance. We defend, therefore, that the specific contents of the teaching of History make the discipline a privileged space for the relationship between education and human rights, thus achieving “education for never again”, in the sense of creating a culture of peace, with a view to building a truly democratic and humane society. To account for this proposal, we will approach the theme of violence and human rights from a historical perspective, taking the eighteenth to twenty-first centuries as a time frame, using the methodology of historical research in the analysis of textual and image sources already available in textbooks, producing a didactic material that guides the teacher in this articulation between History and education for human rights.Acesso AbertoEducação em direitos humanosViolência escolarEnsino de HistóriaViolência escolar e o ensino de História: possibilidades na construção de um espaço de alteridademasterThesis
