Based on the scarcity of information and the need to make viable proposals that guide the teaching of music, this work aimed to discuss the use of musical instruments in public elementary schools, through a report of experiences with students aged 13 to 15 years. of age, from the Municipal School Ferreira Itajubá, located in the municipality of Natal. The work was divided into two stages, the first consisting of a qualitative study, based on a narrative review for the theoretical basis of the research, in a second moment, it was chosen to expose a report of experiences obtained during the accomplishment of a stage, by the author of the work, where activities were developed at the Municipal School Ferreira Itajubá, where there is the EMUSCO Project.
