Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Farmácia) - Departamento de Farmácia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2025.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/61541Due to the aging of the global population, there has been a significant increase in the prevalence of Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases (CNCDs), among which Parkinson's Disease (PD) stands out. In this regard, an integrated research and extension project from the Pharmacy course at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), in partnership with the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD), aims to address this demand and contribute to Brazilian public health. The study is observational, crosssectional, and retrospective, covering the period from May to December 2024. Questions were asked, and medical records were reviewed, totaling 73 patients. The average age of the participants is 68 years, with a PD diagnosis ranging from 1 to 5 years (42.5%), predominantly male (71.6%), and mainly from the Greater Natal area (47.9%). Regarding the source of medication acquisition: for other antiparkinsonian drugs, the main source was UNICAT (83.3%). For levodopa and its derivatives, the primary source was the Popular Pharmacy Program (free of charge) (48.3%). The most commonly used medications were Levodopa + Benserazide Hydrochloride 100/25mg (38.6%) and Amantadine (10.2%). The total average number of medications for PD per patient was 2.3. The most prevalent comorbidity was hypertension (32.1%). However, the most commonly used adjunctive medications were Psycholeptics and Psychoanaleptics (30.1%). The results obtained include the characterization of these patients' profiles and their medication usage, aiming to develop strategies that promote better treatment, appropriate pharmacotherapeutic guidance, and greater adherence to interventions, thereby positively impacting the quality of life of Parkinson's patients treated by the InstituteAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 BrazilDoença de ParkinsonAtenção farmacêuticaInstituto Santos DumontUFRNParkinson's diseasePharmaceutical careSantos Dumont InstituteCaracterização do perfil clínico e do acompanhamento terapêutico de pacientes com doença de Parkinson atendidos na farmácia clínica do Instituto Santos Dumont (ISD)Characterization of the clinical profile and therapeutic monitoring of patients with Parkinson's disease attended at the clinical pharmacy of the Instituto Santos Dumont (ISD)bachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE
