This research promotes cartography of radiodifusion in Natal/RN, it revisits its origins and it explains identitary characteristics in statal, private and public systems, based on Constitution in 1988, to distinguish the presence of radios situated in the public area in Natal (Senado-FM e Marinha-FM e Universitária-FM). It aims to analyze universitary radiodifusion, with a case of study related to the Fundação Norte-rio-grandense de Pesquisa e Cultura (FUNPEC) radio station, linked to the Federal University from Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). As methodology, it uses case of study, qualitative research and in-depth interviews to discuss some conceptual aspects about public essence of radio stations supported and managered by State.
