Os hábitos de leitura das pessoas idosas: uma discussão sobre características projetuais de design para livros digitais. Orientadora: Elizabeth Romani. 2025. 62 f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Bacharelado em Design) - Centro de Ciências Humanas, Letras e Artes, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal-RN, 2025.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/62041The growing number of people using digital technologies in their daily lives highlights the barriers faced by those who, due to socio-economic or generational factors, have not had the opportunity to have frequent contact with digital products and services. These are the so-called digital immigrants, those who didn't grow up with digital technologies, but who have started to use them (Prensky, 2001). This group includes some elderly people, who have significant difficulties interacting with these devices. The 2024 Population Projection (IBGE, 2024) indicates a substantial increase in the population aged between 60 and 75 in Brazil, making it essential to develop projects aimed at this audience. In addition, when observing an elderly person becoming a digital immigrant, their difficulties and specificities became evident, especially in relation to reading of devices, which motivated the development of this research. Some design mistakes can make it difficult for people to interact with digital reading. Similarly, specific studies on adapting digital devices to meet the needs of elderly readers are still scarce. Considering the above, this research aims to discuss design features that facilitate the digital reading experience for elderly people aged between 60 and 75. In order to achieve this objective, Lobach's (2000) method was used, in which a semi-structured interview was used as a data collection tool to understand the reading habits and difficulties with digital devices of this audience. It is therefore hoped that this research will contribute to the discussion on design parameters for the elderly.Pessoas idosasOlder adultsLivro digitaleBookInclusão digitalDigital inclusionLeitura digitalDigital readingOs hábitos de leitura das pessoas idosas: uma discussão sobre características projetuais de design para livros digitaisThe reading habits of older people: a discussion of design features for ebooksbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::DESENHO INDUSTRIAL
