Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Comunicação Social - Jornalismo) - Departamento de Comunicação Social, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/58566This research aimed to analyze the broadcasting territories and investigate the impact of the lack of information production, through a case study (Yin, 2001) and Gil (2002), of TV and radio coverage in Rio Grande do Sul. North. For this, a bibliographical review was carried out. The work traced the trajectory of radio in Brazil, with studies by Neuberger (2012) and Ortriwano (2003), on Rio Grande do Norte radio, Gomes and Rodrigues (2016) and Pedroza (2017), and on the history and development of television, Sales Júnior (2023) and Kneipp (2017) supported this part of the investigation. To map the territories and deserts of radio broadcasting in Rio Grande do Norte, the Atlas da Notícia was chosen as it is an initiative that only highlights vehicles with a journalistic bias. In studies on territories and regional journalism, the investigation included contributions from Dornelles (2010), Peruzzo (2005), Santos (2011), Moreira (2012) and Aguiar (2016). The study was justified by the low journalistic coverage in the state, in addition to contributing to studies in the area of broadcasting. From the results obtained by this research, it was possible to verify and identify an increase in news deserts and the centralization of the TV and radio system in a few cities in the state.Attribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/Televisão.
