O uso das plataformas digitais durante o período pandêmico e pós-pandêmico: o caso do evento Encontro Geoparque Seridó. Orientador: Carolina Todesco. 2024. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Bacharelado em Turismo) - Faculdade de Engenharia, Letras e Ciências Sociais, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Currais Novos, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/59318The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about a series of changes that have significantly affected the world, especially the events sector, which was unable to carry out its activities in person due to measures to combat the spread of the virus. Digital technologies, which were already being used, have become more relevant by enabling events to be held in virtual format. This was the case of the Encontro Geoparque Seridó (EGS) event, which held its third edition in 2021 in this format. Thus, the objective of this study was to investigate the repercussions of the use of digital platforms in the organization of the Encontro Geoparque Seridó during the pandemic and post-pandemic period. The specific objectives were: a. Verify the strategies adopted to carry out the EGS during the pandemic period and the main advantages and disadvantages of the event in virtual format; b. To identify the main digital platforms used by the EGS and their contributions to the organization of the event; c. To investigate the practices that remained after the return of in-person events and the end of the COVID-19 pandemic as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) on May 5, 2023. The research is a case study, of an exploratory, descriptive and explanatory nature, with a qualitative approach. Electronic research, bibliographic research and semi-structured interviews were used as data collection techniques. The set of information was treated with the content analysis technique. The research results show that the event, in 2021, in virtual format provided a lot of media visibility, but the social relations promoted by the in-person event were harmed and logistics workers and geoproducts traders stopped benefiting from the virtual event. However, without digital platforms, the third edition of the event would never have taken place in 2021, due to the peak period of the COVID-19 pandemic, and if it had been canceled it would have caused greater losses. In total, 9 digital platforms were identified that contributed to the execution of the 3rd EGS, in the activities of organization, management, transmission, dissemination and communication. Residual practices from the pandemic period were the more intensive and permanent use of these digital platforms by event organizers even in the in-person format. Therefore, the use of digital platforms was indispensable in the pandemic year and continues to play a relevant role in organizing the event in the in-person formathttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/deed.pt-brPandemia de covid-19Eventos virtuaisPlataformas digitaisEncontro Geoparque SeridóCovid-19 pandemicSeridó Geopark MeetingDigital platformsVirtual eventsO uso das plataformas digitais durante o período pandêmico e pós-pandêmico: o caso do evento Encontro Geoparque SeridóThe use of digital platforms during the pandemic and post-pandemic period: the case of the Encontro Geoparque Seridó eventbachelorThesis
