It is believed that in the school context both cultures can contribute to the teaching of dance in school. From this perspective, the main goal of this monographic work is to demonstrate the importance of studying Afro-Brazilian and indigenous history and culture and their application in the teaching of dance at school. The work is based on the Law 11.645/2008 and on other Afro-Brazilian and indigenous methodological and epistemological references. The research is qualitative in nature, aiming to guide the arguments, perceptions and the dimension of the problem raised in the present monograph.
