The study is based on the assumption that adopting transmedia strategies can enhance both audience engagement and the academic and professional training of the student volunteers involved in sports journalism content production. The methodological approach is qualitative, with exploratory and descriptive characteristics, and adopts a case study as its main procedure. Five interviews were conducted with key members of the project team, along with an analysis of audience and engagement reports from digital platforms (Instagram and YouTube). The findings reveal that although the project currently operates under a predominantly multiplatform logic, there are occasional transmedia initiatives, particularly during complex sports coverages. Interviewees highlighted structural challenges and the need for more integrated narrative planning but also recognized UDE's crucial role in providing practical training for students.
