Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Bacharelado em Geofísica) - Departamento de Geofísica, Centro de Ciências Exatas e da Terra, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2019.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/34346The seismic activity in Baixa Grande (BA) has begun in December 2017 with tremors registered by the Brazilian Seismographic Network (RSBR). In March 2018, the Baixa Grande seismographic network was installed and 153 events were registered between March 23th and August 8th of the same year, among the registered events, 127 of them were pointed out by at least 3 stations. The hypocenter location was determined through the pack SEISAN and HYPO71 using the speed model with Vp/Vs=1.61 and Vp=5.3 km/s ratio that was determined by the team of the Seismological Laboratory of UFRN (LabSis/UFRN). 42 events out of the 127 occurred outside the seismographic network, so they were not accurate. Considering exclusively the events that occurred inside the network, it was possible to notice seismic activity was more intense between april and march, decreasing on 16th march. The highest concentration of network events happened between 22:00 and 02:00 h (UTC), 22:00 h was the hour with more events, 8 events. the seismicity map was elaborated considering the events with 10 observations at least and rms < 0,05 s in order to connect them to the focal mechanism, 58 events were taken into account. Considering that this kind of events result from the same source, the focal mechanism was elaborated using the FOCMEC program applying the P-wave polarity method. The focal mechanism resulted in 125 possible solutions with similar standard. The averages of the parameters found for seismogenic failure were: Strike=309º, dip=74º and rake= -75º, characterizing a normal fault. This seismic fault is recent and it has 170 m long, with earthquakes deep increasing in SW direction (fault dip direction).Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/Atividade sísmicaSeismic activitySismicidade intraplacaIntraplate seismicityLocalização hipocentralLocalization of hypocentersMecanismo focalFocal mechanismFalha SismogênicaSeismogenic faultsSismicidade em Baixa Grande (BA)bachelorThesis
