It discusses the history of university radios in Brazil and in particular of the University FM radio, and describes and characterizes the special materials that make up its collection. It points out the best practices for preservation, cataloging, storage, conservation and cleaning of special materials. With regard to methodological paths, this research was carried out through an exploratory study, involving a qualitative bibliographic survey. It presents technical procedures to use the best practices of organization and conservation of special materials. Finally, it presents the specific fields for cataloging the Radio Universitária documents in the Acervus System, based on the Anglo-American Cataloging Code.
