O2 (Oxigênio): urbanidade e densidade em projeto de conjunto edificado de uso misto em quadra aberta. 2018. 153f. Dissertação (Mestrado Profissional em Arquitetura, Projeto e Meio Ambiente) - Centro de Tecnologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2018.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/jspui/handle/123456789/26720It is observed at Brazilian scenario a growing process of emptying of the public areas at cities caused, among other factors, by the lack of an architecture that promotes the connection between public and private domain spaces (a concept intrinsically related to urban vitality and urbanity). This work has the general objective of designing a high - density, mixed - use building set that will contribute to the urbanity of Cidade Alta, in Natal / RN. And specific objectives of apply principles of urbanity and density in the project with the aid of means and methods of design (such as spatial syntax and parameterization), and extend project repertoire with analysis of reference studies. Based on spatial syntax theory and contemporary urban theory, it is argued here that morphology and density, as with the urban configuration, have effects on the performance of the building as an inducing element of urbanity, urban vitality, key concepts explored. To support the development of the architectural proposal, a bibliographical review of references related to the concepts mentioned below was made: density, urbanity, open court, parameterization; identification of attributes in examples of the environment built with mixed use; and the application of these concepts to the design of the project. In the course of the research, spatial syntax tools were used as a means to simulate visibility properties that are associated with such concepts and urbanity variables that anchor the design proposal. At conception, the use of parametric tools such as BIM technology and algorithm development were used to aid design decision making. The result is a possibility of a high density residential complex that promotes urbanity in its surroundings and that can serve as an inspiration for those who believe that promoting urban living is a way to revitalize our cities.
