This work analyzes the application of Artificial Intelligence, with an emphasis on Natural Language Processing (NLP) and the Transformer (GPT) architecture, as an assistance tool for the generation and maintenance of technical documentation. The methodology is characterized as a literature review composed of articles and undergraduate theses, using search platforms such as Google Scholar and Portuguese- and English-language databases from Scielo, published between 2019 and 2025. The results indicate that the adoption of AI-based assistants promotes a reduction in the time required to produce documents, in addition to increasing standardization and quality management.
