Nowadays, the world of work produces considerable repercussions on the physical and mental health of workers. The countless transformations promoted by monetary globalization, technological modernizations, and management innovation, produce direct interferences in the workers' well-being, considering their forms of work practices and their collective organization. In this context, the pandemic of COVID-19 stands out, demanding a reorganization of work processes and care flows in health institutions, which may have increased the physical, psychological, and social impacts among professionals and affected the health and well-being of these workers. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the influence of aspects related to the work context on the health and well-being of some health professionals working in the Directorate of Quality of Life, Health and Safety at Work (DAS), Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), in times of pandemic of COVID-19. This was a diagnostic study, with a cross-sectional design and a mixed approach. The quantitative data were collected by means of two instruments (sociodemographic and functional questionnaire and the Work Context Assessment Scale) and for the qualitative data, with the objective of investigating the influence of the work context of DAS on the health and well-being of health professionals, considering the possible changes that occurred due to the pandemic of COVID-19, a questionnaire with ten open questions was proposed, organized into 13 categories, which were sent to the research participants with the help of the online tool Google Forms. The research was carried out at DAS-UFRN, located in Natal-RN. The target audience were the health professionals working (totally or partially face-to-face) in the aforementioned directorate. The quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, and the qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis. The results obtained before the pandemic, in the perception of health professionals, indicated that the aspects inherent to the work context of DAS (conditions, work organization, and socio-professional relations) provide a welcoming and motivating environment that favors the health and well-being of professionals. However, it was observed that the Covid 19 pandemic had a negative impact on the health of the workers. The suggestions for improvement, in the context of the pandemic, were mostly related to restructuring the environment and the work process and flow, team feedback, psychological and management support, and staff training on the new work tools. It is hoped that the study will contribute to public management, providing information related to the work and wellbeing of the public servants, aiming at possible improvements in the management of institutional processes.Acesso AbertoContexto de trabalhoBem-estar no trabalhoProfissionais de saúdeCovid-19Contexto de trabalho e bem-estar dos profissionais de saúde no setor público em tempos de pandemia da Covid-19Context of work and well-being of health professionals in the public sector in pandemic times of Covid-19masterThesis
