Based on the historical development and legal aspects related to the protection granted to refugees, both internationally and nationally, the main topics related to the local integration of these individuals in Brazil and the possibility of permanent permanence in the country will be dealt with because of their promising insertion in the community. Considering the current relevance of the topic and the imperative need to safeguard and enforce the rights of those people who, most of the times, can not return to their countries of origin, the discussion about actions aimed at local integration is shown, of the times, results in permanent residence in the welcoming country. The research methodology used in this work was the bibliographical and documentary, based on the analysis of legal doctrine and the main national and international documents related to the topic. Despite the numerous difficulties encountered by refugees in social, economic and cultural integration in Brazil, it is observed that Brazil is seeking to improve its inclusion policies, so as to offer a dignified and promising reception, to the point of allowing the permanent permanence of many refugees in the country.
