Avaliação da incontinência urinária e qualidade de vida em mulheres de meia idade antes e após um protocolo de gameterapia: série de casos. 2016. 49f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Fisioterapia)-Departamento de Fisioterapia, Centro de Ciências da Saúde, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2016.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/35834Purpose: To evaluate urinary incontinence and quality of life before and after a protocol of game therapy for the pelvic floor in middle-aged women. Methods: This is a series of cases, of the quasi-experimental type, composed of 3 women diagnosed with stress urinary incontinence. The study was carried out between September and November 2016 and took place in three stages: a) evaluation: using an evaluation form, application of ICIQ-SF, and perineometry; b) intervention: application of a virtual reality protocol for one month; c) reevaluation: following the initial evaluation protocol, plus the application of the PGI-I questionnaire for treatment analysis. The characterization of the sample was performed using descriptive statistics, considering mean and standard deviation to describe the quantitative variables and absolute and relative frequencies for categorical variables. Bivariate analysis was conducted using the paired T-test to compare the means of the ICIQ-SF scores and the maximum perineometry value. Results: It was observed that the majority (66.7%) of the volunteers presented high school education, were married and had a family income of 3 to 4 minimum wages. The mean age presented in the study was 45.33 years (± 1.20). The mean BMI was 28.30, representative of overweight. Regarding perineometry values before and after the intervention, there was no statistically significant difference. Most of the women (66.7%) reported improvement and only 1 (33.3%) reported being in the same way (nothing changed). Conclusions: No statistically significant differences were found in relation to the ICIQ-SF questionnaire scores and perineometry values before and after the application of the game therapy protocol, but a clinical improvement was observed in most patients, which was evidenced by the report of Improvement in PGI-I in 66.7% of the patients. In addition, it is a treatment with fewer adverse reactions, non-invasive and easily accessible, and may even be used for home treatments.openAccessQualidade de VidaDiafragma da PelveIncontinência UrináriaAvaliação da incontinência e qualidade de vida em mulheres de meia idade antes e após um protocolo de gameterapia: série de casosbachelorThesis
