This review aims to understand the relation between the home food environment and its influence on eating behavior and obesity development. This review is guided by Itens de Relatório Preferidos para Revisões Sistemáticas e Protocolos de Meta-análise (PRISMA). The systematic research of the literature will take place in a period from March to June, 2023, in the following databases: PubMed, Scopus, Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde (BVS), Web of Science and Embase. Two researchers searched for articles independently, with a defined research strategy. . Review articles, case reports, controlled studies, studies that did not deal with home food environment, studies focused on polymorphisms or other obesity causes, were excluded. This systematic review included original articles that present how the home food environment can influence on eating behavior and obesity. Bases on the databases search, 1345 articles were screened and selected by reading their titles and abstracts, then its full texts. 15 studies were included. Of the 15 articles included in this review, twelve are cross-sectional studies, two are secondary data of a control study and one is a qualitative study. Through this review it was possible to verify the influence of home food environment factors on individuals eating behaviors, specially on kids, the population of most interest in this research field. Therefore, it can be concluded that home food environment factors are directly associated with eating behavior and influence in a higher risk of obesity development. The knowledge of this relation is important for public policies implementation with the objetive of reaching individuals with obesity and making possible greater awareness of their eating patterns, which can lead to healthier food choices.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 BrazilComportamento alimentarAmbiente alimentar domésticoObesidadeHome food environmentEating behaviorObesityAmbiente alimentar doméstico e sua relação com o comportamento alimentar e a obesidade: uma revisão sistemáticaHome food environment and its relation with eating behavior and obesity: a systematic reviewbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE
