Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Arquitetura e Urbanismo), Departamento de Arquitetura, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2021.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/45829In the town of Caicó, located in the Seridó region in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, the actions on Environmental Education (EE) developed by the public power are still considered modest, after more than two decades since the creation of the Brazilian National Environmental Education Policy (Law 9.795/99), that explains the necessity of Environmental Education being a part of the educational process. Meanwhile, the number of social groups engaged in environmental subjects increased in the last years, such is the case of the ArborizaCaicó Project that began their activities with the objective of increasing the quantity of native trees, planting and donating seedlings to those interested. Thus, this work has as goal to propose the draft of an Environmental Education Center in Caicó/RN, attached to the plant nursery and housing the Woodtree Caicó headquarters, considering bioclimatic factors. The proposition looked for support in theoretical framework references about Environmental Education, that jointly to the performing of interviews and Environmental Education Centers’ reference studies, guided the briefing’s composition and the project decision making. Because it is an area with dry and warm weather, strategies that involve thermal inertia, evaporative cooling and compact composition of the building were embraced to provide more thermal comfort. The project justifies itself for being destined to debates and actions of valorization of environment aspects, such as lectures and workshops, to the population, besides providing suitable space to the mentioned Woodtree Caicó project and to a Municipal Meliponary, what subsidizes actions also related to the preservation of stingless bees. In conclusion, considering that the physical space itself doesn’t mean the increase of the practice on Environmental Education nor the environment’s improvement, it’s significant the importance of popular and public management’s participation to organize and implement activity plans about relevant topics to the population. Thus, with a good performance, an Environmental Education Center contributes to the implementation of Environmental Education in the town and adjacencies.Attribution-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/3.0/br/Arquitetura bioclimática - MonografiaCentro de educação ambiental - MonografiaMeliponário urbano - MonografiaCentro de educação ambiental Flor do Algodão, Caicó/RNFlor do Algodão Environmental Education Center, Caicó / RNbachelorThesis
