With the growing presence of these platforms in people's daily lives, it is important to understand the impact that the use of social media can have on journalism and news consumption. Therefore, through a bibliographic review on the topic, an analysis was conducted about the consumption of news content by young people in Generation Z, aiming to understand the profile, behavioral characteristics, and aspects of this group that influence their information consumption beyond news portals. The theoretical basis is based on studies by Recuero (2009) on the dissemination of information on social networks, McCrindle (2014) on aspects of Generation Z and Jenkins (2006) on the dissemination of news.
