The main working tool of epidemiological surveillance is compulsory notification, operating as a means of communicating the occurrence of a certain disease or condition by health professionals through the Notifiable Diseases Information System and with the advent of the pandemic caused by the coronavirus, the registry of many diseases began to be neglected by the health sector, which had to prioritize actions to meet the demands of this new disease. Objective: to carry out a situational diagnosis study of compulsory notifications in the municipality of Caicó in the pre-pandemic, during and post-pandemic period, correlating with the measures adopted in the covid-19 pandemic, highlighting the changes that occurred in the epidemiological profile of the main Diseases Compulsory Notification in the municipality of Caicó, reporting units, demographic profile and the evolution, closure and classification of notification forms eligible in the case study. Method: crosssectional, retrospective epidemiological research with a quantitative approach, using as data source secondary records extracted from compulsory notification forms of the Notification Information System of the Municipal Health Department of Caicó, which were analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2010 software in the form of tables, charts and figures, using descriptive statistics methods, in the historical series from January 2017 to December 2022. Result and Discussion: The study showed 7,657 notifications, where the pre-pandemic period (2017 to 2019) recorded 3,731 notifications and the pandemic period (2020 to 2022), 3,926 notifications, being the problems of human antirabies care, work accidents, tuberculosis and violence self-reported/self-caused, those with greater magnitudes and dengue and Chikungunya fever, those with lower records in this pandemic period. Final Considerations: This study presented a correlation between the hypotheses of the association between the pandemic and records of the number of illnesses and injuries, where the relevant factors that contributed to the reduction in cases such as arboviruses and the increase in work accidents, different types of violence, among others in the pandemic period, as the literature points out, it involves changes in the social behavior of the population, through sanitary and economic measures, in the operating dynamics of health services, placing health professionals in a constant work situation aimed at providing care. of patients and consequently neglecting other diseases and injuries, contributed to changes in the epidemiological scenario in the municipality of Caicó.
