The community pharmacy is a crucial point in obtaining hormones for these trans individuals, portraying the importance of the pharmacist in welcoming, guiding, and providing healthcare services. However, a gap in the training of this professional was evidenced, highlighting difficulties in understanding the term "transgender", in the approach and appropriate treatment of these individuals, and the limited knowledge of the medicinal therapies used in this gender affirmation process. Investment in the education and continuous training of pharmacists, recognizing their role in providing care to this population and their inclusion in specialized outpatient multidisciplinary teams for this population group, are important steps towards improving the assistance and providing safer and more qualified medication management for these individuals, minimizing existing risks. The study found that access to healthcare services and obtaining therapeutic support for the transgender population face significant challenges, including the low preparation of pharmacists to deal with their demands.
