This area's landscape can be enjoyed democratically due to its protection by legal provisions as well as controlled construction maximum height instituted by the Special Tourist Interest Zone 1 (ZET-1) and the non aedificandi area, which helps protect the cultural scenery of Ponta Negra. On the other hand, there is a strong real estate pressure that aims to occupy and verticalize these areas close to the sea to take advantage of this natural attraction and commercialize it through the occupation of the currently protected area. It is understood that the preservation of this landscape corroborates not only with the right to the city but also with the continuous construction of the Potiguar social imaginary, which is achieved by the democratic appropriation of space.
