Tese (Doutorado em Ciências Sociais) - Centro de Ciências Humanas, Letras e Artes, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2021.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/32489A research moves towards understanding what are the main factors for understanding transfeminicide in Brazil. The fundamental analytical categories are ‘gender’ and ‘violence’, in addition to their obligations to other theoretical spheres, such as ‘humanity’, ‘recognition’, ‘precariousness’, ‘vulnerability’ and ‘mourning’. The main hypothesis is based on the idea that the State itself is one of the central agents - if not the most important - in the production of unequal levels of humanity (s) and that death policies are the propelling valves of its structure. The empirical context is observed by observing reports on national transphobic lethal violence obtained in the 2016-2019 quadrennium, made possible through content analysis (BARDIN, 1977). In addition, the discourse analysis (FOUCAULT, 1996) of transvestites and transsexual women who, in some way, were inserted in contexts of violence, carried out through semistructured changes, was used. Authors such as Berenice Bento (2014, 2016, 2018), Judith Butler (2006a, 2006b, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016) and Jaqueline Gomes de Jesus (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016) make up the medullary theoretical bulge that underpins the investigation.Acesso AbertoTransfeminicídioGêneroViolênciaReconhecimentoEntre dados e dúvidas: uma análise do transfeminicídio no BrasildoctoralThesis
