As an outcome of a global environmental agenda, Agenda 2030 has established 17 Sustainable Development Goals, among which is to ensure changes in production and consumption patterns. To this end, one of the goals is to promote sustainable public procurement practices. In this process, states emerge as the main agents of change in production and consumption patterns due to their purchasing power. Data from Ipea (2021) estimate that more than 12% of countries' GDP is used in their public procurement to meet administrative needs. In Brazil, a legal framework has been gradually created in favor of implementing sustainable public procurement in light of the principles of sustainable development and sustainability. One of the legal provisions that served as a reference for public bodies to adopt sustainability criteria in their public contracts, in force for over a decade, was IN 01/2010. However, scientific research reveals that public bodies have not yet been able to implement effective public procurement policies even in the face of the normative compendium. In this vein, the general objective of this research was to analyze the sustainability criteria adopted in the shared public procurement of IFCE. Thus, a qualitative approach was adopted as the methodology, being adescriptive research regarding its specific objectives, as well as bibliographic, documentary, and content analysis techniques for data interpretation. In this sense, the investigation into 38 IFCE’s public procurement processes showed that the organization is moving towards sustainable public procurement, but the environmental, social, and economic sustainable criteria adopted in the bids and their annexes have still been incipient. Of the three sustainable dimensions, the environmental dimension presented the lowest number in detriment to the social and economic aspects. In view of this, improvements in processes were suggested. And it is expected, finally, that both the results and the propositions may contribute to encouraging the organization to adopt more sustainability criteria in its government procurement.Acesso AbertoCompras públicas sustentáveisSustentabilidadeDesenvolvimento sustentávelCritérios sustentáveisCompras públicas compartilhadas: proposições de melhorias para as licitações sustentáveis do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do CearámasterThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS
