This paper points to concepts involved in the manufacture and operation of these devices such as: history of the Peltier effect and development of Peltier wafers. It is shown the efficiency of cooling water using a Peltier wafer existing in Campus Natal – Zona Norte. For this, we implemented a set of cooling water and measurements were made to determine the efficiency of system.
