Caicó, 2016.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/44325The article aims at analising how the guide of the history textbook that was used in the years of 2012, 2013 and 2014 for the 5th year of the fundamental teaching approaches the themes related to Afro and Afro-Brazilian history and culture. For such a task, it considers the importance given to the textbook while instrument of support for the teachers, which many times was the only technological resourse availabe in some schools. In the same way the teachers who act in that year are not majored in the área of history and many times are not ready for acting in the correct way out of lack of knowledge and for their academic unpreparedness related to the historic African and Afro-Brazilian historic and cultural matter.
