However, there are few studies that explore the antimicrobials drug-related problems in pediatrics. OBJECTIVE: to characterize the use of antimicrobials in a pediatric ward, to identify antimicrobials drug-related problems and to evaluate the acceptance of pharmaceutical interventions by the multidisciplinary team. METHODS: this is a descriptive, prospective and cross-sectional study. DRPs were classified according to an adapted version of the Pharmacotherapy Workup method. A descriptive analysis of the data was performed and the variables studied were expressed as frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation as required. RESULTS: 159 patients were included in the study, of which 53.5% used only one antimicrobial during hospitalization. The mean of antimicrobials use per patient was 1.69 ± 0.94. The main classes of antimicrobials prescribed were cephalosporins, penicillins and antivirals. 57.8% of patients presented some type of DRP and the DRP per patient mean was 1.28 ± 1.77. The classes of antimicrobials with the highest risk of developing DRP were penicillins, glycopeptides and aminoglycosides. Evaluating the pharmaceutical interventions during the study, 89.2% were accepted and 10.8% were not accepted by the team. CONCLUSION: This work reinforces the need for pharmacists to work in pediatrics analyzing prescriptions, providing guidance and promoting pharmacist interventions with the teamAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/AntimicrobianosPediatriaPrescrições de MedicamentosIntervenções farmacêuticas relacionadas a antimicrobianos em crianças hospitalizadasPharmaceutical interventions related to antimicrobials in hospitalized childrenbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::FARMACIA
